Sultan Muhammad Quli Qutb Shah erected the monument in 1591 AD. The history of the monument establishes Charminar as an important symbol of brotherhood and community harmony. The markets around Charminar are very popular and are frequently visited by tourists from different parts of the country.
Four elegant minarets rise to a height of 48.7m above the ground. Charminar has 45 prayer rooms as well as a mosque. Visitors can see the architectural splendor inside the Charminar. The monument is illuminated at night and a pedestrianization project around the monument is being implemented.

Charm:
The Charminar is as much the signature of Hyderabad as the Taj Mahal is of Agra or the Eiffel Tower is of Paris. Mohammed Quli Qutb Shah, the founder of Hyderabad, built the Charminar in 1591 at the center of the original layout of the city. Golconda Fort:
Another tourist attraction is the city of Hyderabad Golconda Fort, a 16th-century fort located on the western outskirts of the city of Hyderabad. Known for its diamond collection, the famous Kohinoor is said to have originally belonged to Golconda. The fort is one of the rare pieces of beautiful architecture in India.
Laad Bazaar:
This is a famous and colorful shopping mall in the old city, tucked away in one of the streets leading out of Charminar. Traditional Hyderabadi bridal wear, pearls, and bangles encrusted with crystals and stones are sold here.
Birla Mandir:
This white marble temple of Lord Venkateshwara floats on the city’s skyline, in Kala Pahad. The temple’s idol is a replica of the one in Tirupati.
